A bit about Toad.
What I do, what I am into, and how to reach me.
I'm Ilias — online I go by Toad. I'm 23 (turning 24 this June), based in Athens, Greece, where I'm a student and work as a junior sysadmin.
When something genuinely catches my interest, I tend to disappear into it. That's how most of my projects come together: a small itch turns into a few late nights, and a few late nights turn into something I actually want to share.
I started out leaning into hardware — building PCs, tinkering, monitoring, understanding what's actually happening under the heatsink. Lately I've been pushing harder into software, and AI has been pulling at my attention more and more. There's a lot left to learn, and that's the fun part.
I also did a stretch in tech support — which, to be honest, was a nightmare. But it was the fastest way I ever learned to troubleshoot the nightmare that is Windows. Now when something breaks, I usually have a pretty good idea where to start swinging the wrench.
Why "Toad"?
I wanted a unique handle, so I went with Toad Jo. Then a meme got going with my friends — everyone started spamming w toad — so I dropped the "Jo" and never looked back. Now I'm just Toad.
